Various Initiatives

In an effort to support the Green Revolution and promote cleanliness, SRKKF focuses on enhancing Surat city’s image of being the Clean and Green city of our nation, and thereby promotes the idea of “Clean Surat and Green Surat”. Shri Govindkaka and his friends formulated a group of members who hold a firm belief in this dream and are willing to work towards it as a voluntary service. The members of “Welcome Clearity Club” are known as “Green Commandoes”.

More than 250 Green commandoes carry out the cleanliness drive in a very unique way; each Sunday these commandoes gather at specific locations which are dirt prone, recite the national anthem and start the cleaning activity. The commandoes silently accomplish the cleaning activity and close the cleanliness drive by reciting the national anthem again. This was an exceptional tradition performed by Green Commandoes in order to keep Surat –“KhubSurat”.

Stitching our all efforts together is a green thread – one where in we are continuously lowering our carbon footprint through compliance with environmental norms and going beyond that by setting even higher standards.

  • We organised a mega tree plantation drive near Ubharat, near Navsari of Surat, Gujarat on World Environment Day 2022. The drive was towards the plantation of 1 lakh trees on 300 acres of land. The activity was initiated to create a green zone in one of the popular tourist destinations of Surat.
  • Shri Govindkaka in the year 2020 planted 200 trees at SRK Sports Park, Surat as a tribute to COVID-19 warriors. It included 100 Neem trees, 50 Banyan trees and 50 Aso Palav trees.
  • In association with Sanskar Deep Youth Club and Divya Bhaskar newspaper in the year 2019, we planted 3000 saplings in 30 minutes at Variav, Surat, India.
  • Inspired by Shri Kiran Kumarji, recipient of the auspicious Santokbaa Humanitarian Award, we participated in Sadguru Jaggi Vasudevji's ‘Kaveri Calling’ project by giving a grant of Rs. 51 lakh towards plantation of 1,21,000 trees.
